Paper Pulp Predicament

Ever had one of the situations where you've found out there you've left some paper in amongst your clothes before putting your washing machine through a wash cycle. Only to find later that the mashed up paper pulp is now covering your clothes? Well, girlfriend had an entire chinese calendar in with her vĂȘtements, you know the type made from really fine paper which you tear off a sheet everyday? Cue fine pulp covering London wardrobe...... Kind of prophetic considering it's been snowing over here late. Brrr......

A very late Gong Xi Fa Cai

Been MIA for the past few weeks. Mainly because the girlfriend was here from singapore, and then the huge mess that is pilot plant week basically descended on my life after she left.

It was great having her here over the Chinese New Year period, existing in a space between mildly forgotten chinese festivities and contented couplehood life. I don't really know how to describe it really. This was one of the best times that we've spent together, not filled with overwhelming expectations or the need to consume the other person's psyche. God is good......

CNY

It's the first day of the Lunar New Year! Traditionally a time of copious amounts of indulgent food, stuffed full of preservatives and various other chemicals detrimental to general well being. Not to mention the relatives you only see once a year, and couldn't really give 2 hoots about.

I'm not getting any of that here. At least I've got W with me. Which is nice. Real nice. We were at Chinatown the day before, and there were all these decorations and throngs of people stocking up on the goodies, but I just wasn't getting it. I guess being in a different country, without all the family around you just makes the whole thing seem more alien and more detached. Well....
