The fiancee is finally here! After several hiccups in terms of flights etc. Been an interesting few days. Call it test trial for married life. Valentine's was surprising uneventful. Just as well. She got me a gorgeous Skagen watch. Simple and elegant, yet with a little panache.

London delights: Soho hotel

Stumbled across this little boutique hotel tucked away in some obscure corner of Soho. I'm not exactly a novice when it comes to the little streets of Soho, but this jewel in the midst of the London's own Babylon has managed to escape my attention for the past 7 years. What caught my eye was the huge mural they had in the hotel restaurant REFUEL, saw it from the main street and I just had to find out what it was. That's what I love about this city, the complete and utter randomness of it. They've got a big ass Botero bronze cat in the lobby. What I find most intriguing is the lovely library / lounge coupled with the honesty bar. Somehow I don't think the honesty bar concept would work too good back home. But that's just the cynic in me.

Favourite places

This is my favourite place in London. When I look back on my time here, many years later, I will remember this small cafe, tucked away on Charing Cross Rd, and all the time I've spent here with real people, people I've shared my life and a cup of coffee with. It's kind of poignant to me right now, seeing as I haven't got much more time left here. I shall have to spend some time there this week. Breakfast tomorrow morning....

Was at Covent Garden Neal's Yard, when I randomly stumbled into this gallery which had some pretty amusing fashion I thought I'd share. Can't seem to remember the name of the designer/artist though. Sorry to all those who'd like to buy this dress.

Disney land with the death penalty
